A (Free) Mindfulness Offer to Teachers, Parents, and Students
Whether you are a teacher, parent, or student, you know there is a major shift that occurs when summer turns to fall. It can feel thrilling to know that we will all be back in a routine. It can also evoke feelings of anxiety and ‘how will I ever figure this out?’
Let’s be proactive and establish the habits we need to feel at ease, successful, and ready for what the new academic year has in store for us.
It has been a while since we shared a kids yoga pose, so this week we present the Deer Pose from our winter workbook. This pose is a variation of the Warrior I pose. Deers are elusive, know how to listen, tread lightly and dash away when danger approaches. In the Deer Pose, think to yourself, I tread lightly with care.
Back to school means that you and your children may be experiencing adding stress, stimuli, and a more hectic schedule. The following poses are designed to help you empower, restore balance, reduce the outside stimuli like light and sound, and to relax and unwind. Enjoy this sequence as an after school ritual together with your children or they can practice on their own.
The Acts of Kindness Tree is a great activity for children and parents/teachers to explore acts of kindness together. It illustrates the different ways you can be kind. Helping a friend out. Picking up trash. Volunteering at a local shelter. No matter how big or small your kind deed is, it impacts the world around you. Let's create together!
