The course hours add up to 89 hours, which includes the hours you must observe of my teaching. You will still need to be observed by me practice teaching. You can record videos teaching and upload to Youtube, or a drive. They can include live (likely online) children or emulate teaching children.
You are responsible for completing your teaching hours. Because Yoga Alliance is granting us the ability to be observed remotely, I highly recommend you do your practice teaching BEFORE we complete the course so you can receive your certificate upon completion. You must do your teaching hours to receive your certificate.
If you miss any parts of the course live, you must watch the recordings and then let me know you have done so to receive your certificate. The viewing must happen by September 30, 2020 if you plan to register with YA.
If you are not going to register with Yoga Alliance, the rules are not as strict and therefore you would not need to finish by September 30. Nonetheless, to wrap things up nicely, please try to have this complete if you possibly can.
Note to those who previously took the foundations course (previously called the Kids Yoga Teacher Training): If you took foundations prior to September 2019, you MUST rewatch or join our foundations course live in order to receive credit from the Yoga Alliance. If you are not attending live online, please notify me once you have viewed the recordings.
Each course comes with content. These are PDFs you can view or print. PLEASE DO NOT SHARE WITH ANYONE. These have cost thousands and thousands of dollars to produce and are part of your tuition.
Testimonials about the 95-hour online kids yoga teacher training from the Spring 2020 cohort!
💕 I know I have shared this with you before and I will continue to share with you and others how grateful I am for your training , guidance, support, and love throughout this 95 hr training. It has truly been amazing and I am sad to see it end! From the day I purchased the Yamas and Niyamas lesson plans 2 years ago I knew that I wanted to study and train under you . I have gained so much insight and so many tools that have really set my soul on fire to share yoga and mindfulness with youth in any way I can. Do I need my 200-hour RYT through Yoga Alliance to pursue my 95 RCYT?
In order to register as an RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance, a teacher must also complete a 200-hour training with an RYS 200. However, it does not need to be done first. A teacher can complete the trainings in any order. You do not need to register with the Yoga Alliance, it is a governing body only. To be a certified children’s yoga teacher, you need to complete all course hours. In order to register with the Yoga Alliance, you must also be a 200-hour RYT or above. You can pursue that before or after your RCYT training is complete.
What is the 95-hour RCYT?
This is a course that involves 95 hours of training. It is a certificate that is registered through the Yoga Alliance.
Don't I need contact hours?
Contact means in-person with a lead trainer, but right now during the COVID19 pandemic, contact hours are awarded for online training per Yoga Alliance. That rule currently extends until 6/30/2020.
Do I need to get my RCYT to teach?
No, you do not need to have your 95-hour Registered Children's Yoga Teacher designation through Yoga Alliance to become a kids yoga teacher. You are able to teach once you feel ready. Though registration through Yoga Alliance is rarely a requirement to teach children's yoga in most settings, it can boost your confidence and enrich your resume. It is not essential for all people. If you are thinking of a kids yoga career track, consider completing your 95-RCYT.
Can I teach kids yoga after I take this course?
What if I need more help once I am done with this course?
We offer online as well as private mentorship to our graduates. I will work with payment plans through these trying economic times. If you need help with building a business or learning the ropes of working online, I can support you privately.
What are the details of the 95-hour RCYT through Flow and Grow Kids Yoga?
In order to get your 95 hour RCYT through us, you need to complete 82 contact hours and the remaining 13 can be live online or no. That means once you take this course, you will need to finish the rest of the courses.
The courses are listed above. If you cannot make any of the times, all will be recorded. Observation and Practice Teaching must be set up with Lara.
